This is a juxtaposition to the exterior, the inside looks very shino compared to the golden exterior. Has a nice warm interior.TBH, this one was chosen due to the exceptional exterior, but the interior is very nice, cannot wait to serve up matcha in it.

That's a great collection of ShyRabbit's wares Chip! Here is my cup - thought I would repost in this thread. I love the orange swirls on the interior, just fantastic!

I still have not got around to photographing my Chawan, have to get that done this weekend!

Yea - finally I've got mine :D
Got the confirmation to pick it up even on Wednesday. Managed to pick up on Friday after work.
Think of me as a four year old getting his Christmas present. - Yes unpacking has been great. Three hours later I held it in my hands.
Tell you what - it is really shining and a beauty. Tried to take some pictures, but I think my camera skills are not good enough. :(
First it got some green tea. But I think it is really made for Pu Erh - and so it got some next.

Thanks a lot Michael for this awesome cup. I'll treasure it and it will have a lot of tea with me.

Glad I could join the TA SO.
Cheers

Several people are saying this! (I note several nice images in spite of the protests!)

Complex glazes can be difficult to capture, I think it takes a combination of luck and light if you wish to do anything other than place it on a grey-sheet and take a "product" shot (although to be honest those aren't always the easiest either.)

A suggestion: try turning your image into something reflective of your mood by editing the image. Try importing it into picnik.com (which is free and you don't have to download it,) play with colors and frames, etc, and see if you can find your mood - even if you don't preserve the real life colors of your image.

We're talking about functional art produced by an artist. I'm relatively certain he'd be pleased to see his work being used to evoke more creativity from people, as well as being used to enjoy tea (which is the important part. )

Finally! Had some time for photos and Matcha in my Chawan. Photo's in use are over in the Matcha thread.

There is something special about drinking tea out of beautiful piece of art like this.

Marco,
Many thanks for letting me know all arrived in one piece...and that you enjoyed the "un-packing". Again, my "arriving safe" record still stands!

Also, thanks for your kind words regarding my work and that this piece will be used often, I appreciate that.

Very lovely shot Geek! You captured the essence of your cup perfectly!
We just used the 'fraternal twin' of your cup yesterday! These are surely great pieces.

We also use our chawan yesterday and hopefully the Mr. will be posting those pictures sometime today! Love the way his pieces feel in the hand, so form-fitting if that makes sense. Wow, almost feels like they were made especially for my hands.

Thanks ShyRabbit for giving us the opp to own these terrific works of art. I feel sorry for those who missed out!

Late? You are just not early. You just arrived just when you wanted to.

Some super nice cups and chawan-s remain.

It's here!

After an epic battle with the very very very secure packaging, I managed to extract this gorgeous beauty:

so much prettier IRL than in it's photos. More with better light later!
